I think everyone knows by now that the Internet is the most life changing innovation in human history. Since the advent of the Internet the world has gone through massive changes.
Old school advertising with the “big media boys” does not work like it used to. Yellow pages, radio and T.V. advertising, and billboards are all dying. And if a small business wants to actually stay alive then they must learn to play by the new rules.
Here’s the bottom line. In 2009 the population of North America was roughly 340,000,000. So how many do you think were using the Internet?

What about advertising? Conventional advertising is dying fast. Why do you think Google is valued at $115 billion when it is free to use? Google is the fastest growing media company in history. And the reason they are valued so high is because of online advertising.
The game of advertising is simple. Where there are a lot of people (traffic), businesses pay to expose them to their product or service. The more people usually the better the results and the higher the cost of the ad.
Well, “old school” advertising tactics haven’t worked so well lately and there is a reason for it. People are using Google to find what they are looking for. Why is the first page on Google so important for your search term?
Because that is where all the traffic is. And remember, advertising is all about where you find the most, qualified people. Even being far down on the first page of Google is not really great.
You must be in the top 5 organic listings on Google for it to do you any good. Imagine always being right in front of the people who are looking for your products or services 24/7… that is what happens when you are ranked high on Google.

The reason it is so effective is because it is highly targeted. You are not wasting your money on unqualified prospects. Everyone who visits your Google listing is actively looking for what you have to offer!
